Two contract positions are available for full-time ASL paraprofessionals/sign language interpreters to support middle school learners within general education classroom environments. Enjoy a collaborative, encouraging setting focused on student growth and academic inclusion—without behavioral challenges.
Key Qualifications:
High school diploma required Current ASL certificate or documentation of ASL proficiency Previous experience as a paraprofessional or sign language interpreter, especially in educational settings, is preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Passion for supporting students and enhancing accessibility in the classroom
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide real-time ASL interpretation for middle school students in varied classroom lessons and activities Adapt signing to meet individual student comprehension needs Support student participation alongside teachers and staff, fostering an inclusive classroom culture Collaborate with educators and staff to encourage student engagement and success Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism at all times Assist with assignments, clarification, and integration of learning materials as needed The assignment offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, generally from 7:30 am until 2:30 pm, following the pace of the school day.
