Job Description

Embark on a meaningful opportunity supporting students in specialized classroom settings, working full-time in a contract role for the academic year. As a paraprofessional, you will join a dedicated team, assisting lower-ratio classes where students may have complex communication needs and display a range of challenging behaviors, including those associated with Autism and related disabilities. Your expertise and compassion will help foster student growth and a positive learning environment.
Qualifications Needed:
Associates Degree, 48 semester credit hours, or a ParaPro Assessment score of at least 450 (required) Prior classroom experience supporting students with Autism or related disabilities Ability to interpret and follow IEPs Preferred but not required: CPI training, de-escalation training, significant behavioral support experience, and CPR certification Must meet school district non-negotiable requirements Successful completion of district-required drug testing, fingerprinting, and additional background check
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and assistance to students in lower teacher-to-student ratio classrooms Implement tailored strategies based on individual IEPs Apply de-escalation and behavioral intervention techniques as needed Foster positive, engaging interactions that promote academic and social development Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation in accordance with district policies
Position Details:
