Desired Qualifications:
Associate's degree, OR ParaPro assessment score of 450 or higher, OR 48 semester college credits (must meet one of these criteria) Direct classroom experience working with children Knowledge of IEPs and comfort supporting students with Autism or related disabilities Preferred but not required: CPI training, de-escalation training, experience with significant behaviors, and CPR certification Ability to pass district-required drug testing, fingerprinting, and background screening
Key Responsibilities:
Support classroom instruction under the guidance of a lead teacher, reinforcing lesson content and providing individualized attention as needed Assist students in developing communication and social skills, implementing behavior-support strategies when necessary Read and interpret IEPs to deliver tailored support in accordance with each child's needs Contribute to a positive, structured, and safe learning environment, de-escalating situations and responding promptly to challenging behaviors Maintain accurate records and follow all school and district policies Enjoy the fulfillment of working school-day hours (35 hours per week, M-F) and knowing your skills directly impact the growth and well-being of students in need.
