Orleans CLASS Observer (Part-Time)

Location:

Statewide in Louisiana, with a focus on specific areas of need in the Greater New Orleans Region including Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and other St. Parishes.

Organization:

Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development & Lifelong Learning, University of Louisiana at Lafayette The Picard Center is seeking a part-time CLASS-Act Observer to support statewide efforts in early childhood assessment. Priority regions include Orleans and neighboring parishes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (birth to pre-K), OR Bachelor's degree in another field plus at least two years of experience working with children from birth to age five Experience with classroom observations and professional writing Willingness to travel with reliable transportation Proficiency with computers and strong general tech literacy Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified CLASS observer in Infant, Toddler, and/or Pre-K-3rd

Responsibilities:

Participate in all required training, calibration, and ongoing professional development Conduct on-site CLASS observations, including: Travel to assigned locations Perform a 2-hour observation Submit detailed notes and summary documentation that meet Picard Center standards
