Job Description

Northshore Academy Upper School provides an alternative educational program for students in grades 7-12 who require a therapeutic program to address their social, emotional and behavioral health needs. Students at Northshore Academy may be those struggling with issues related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, non-verbal learning disabilities, or Autism Spectrum Disorders. Positive, trusting relationships are at the core of teaching and learning at Northshore Academy.
Position Summary:
Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant needed to support students with social, emotional and behavioral challenges in a therapeutic setting. Assist professional staff with all aspects of program management including classroom, student support and provision of therapy services. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 2:30PM Salary is based on school year (185 school days). ESY is optional.
Specific Duties:
Work with classroom teachers in an academic support role. Collaborate with professional staff to ensure the safety of the students in all environments. Participate in training in relevant areas. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is a must. Please see specific job description for complete details.
Qualifications:
Experience working with students with social and emotional challenges strongly preferred.
Education/Training/Experience :
Ability to understand the need of and build positive relationships with young adolescents. Experience working with students in alternative or therapeutic settings, preferred.

$26.09 - $35.62 per hour
