Program Assistant (Part-time) Tutoring Plus of Cambridge Cambridge, MA Job Details Part-time $20 - $22 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Qualifications Experience working with high schoolers Working with students Organizational skills Cleaning Data collection Full Job Description Tutoring Plus of Cambridge is a local nonprofit that provides free tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs to students in grades 3-12. Our programs advance educational equity by supporting youth in their academic, personal, and social growth. Our vision is a world where every young person is empowered with the knowledge and confidence to create their future. Role and Responsibilities Tutoring Plus is hiring part-time Program Assistants for the academic year to support our 1:1 Tutoring & Mentoring Programs and drop-in Homework Centers. Programs will run in-person at various sites around Cambridge. Program Assistants work closely with the Program Coordinators and all program staff to provide high quality programming and a safe, structured learning environment.
Teaching Assistants will:
Develop positive relationships with young people in our programs Conduct individual student support for behavioral or academic challenges Assist or take on program-related tasks, such as data collection, setting up or cleaning up, gathering supplies, leading transitions, and more Provide individualized support for volunteers, including finding resources or sharing best practices for working with specific students Attend and participate in required trainings and meetings to assist with program implementation Participate in program evaluations and annual Quality Improvement System (QIS) process Job Description Details Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 4:30-7:30pm (with additional availability for occasional trainings or meetings) Approximately 6-16 hours/week during school year Start date in late September or early October, end date in mid June Salary range: $20-22/hour based on experience Program Locations Our programs are conveniently located in various locations around Cambridge. These are the locations the Program Assistant will support programming at: Fletcher Maynard Academy ( 225 Windsor Street, Cambridge, MA 02139 ): Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Cambridge Street Upper School ( 840 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA 02141 ): Tuesdays Qualifications Experience working with school-aged youth in small or large group settings Ability to take initiative with program tasks Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work well as part of a team Willingness to adapt to changing situations Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask Strong written and verbal communication skills Commitment to policies, goals and mission of Tutoring Plus Desire to ask questions, learn and support young people
