Building principal or designee, under the direction of the teacherQUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree, two years of college, or passed state assessment required as to ability to assist in the instruction of math, reading, and writing, preferred. Special education experience is strongly preferred.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The IA is expected to support students health care needs and life skills development. In carrying out these responsibilities, the paraprofessional shall: Instruct student(s) as assignedFollow student specific programmingCollect and graph data, if necessaryProvide reinforcement strategiesUse appropriate prompting proceduresAssist with Activities of Daily LivingExperience with behavior de-escalation strategies preferred•Any such other related duties as may be assigned by the building principal or designee.The paraprofessional must also be able to communicate effectively with students and staff, and be able to maintain discipline in all school settings.
