TITLE:
Student Specific Paraprofessional
REPORTS TO
Building principal or designee, under the direction of the teacher
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree, two years of college, or passed state assessment required as to ability to assist in the instruction of math, reading, and writing, preferred. Special education experience is strongly preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Student Specific Paraprofessional is expected to support student's health care needs and life skills development. In carrying out these responsibilities, the paraprofessional shall:
  • Instruct student(s) as assigned
  • Follow student specific programming
  • Collect and graph data, if necessary
  • Provide reinforcement strategies
  • Use appropriate prompting procedures
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living
  • Experience with behavior de-escalation strategies preferred
  • Any such other related duties as may be assigned by the building principal or designee.
Theparaprofessional must also be able to communicate effectively with students and staff, and be able to maintain discipline in all school settings. He/she shall be punctual in all assignments, observe all District policies appropriate to this position, and accept responsibility of assigned tasks.
