HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

As an Early Education Teacher Assistant, you'll support lead teachers in creating a warm, safe, and engaging learning environment for children ages birth to 5. You'll play a hands-on role in children's daily routines, developmental activities, and social-emotional growth — helping lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Support lead teachers in delivering age-appropriate, play-based learning activities aligned with program curriculum and developmental goals. Assist with daily classroom routines including arrival and dismissal, meals, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play. Supervise children by sight and sound at all times, maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment. Provide hands-on support with personal care needs including diapering, toileting, handwashing, and feeding as developmentally appropriate. Support children's social-emotional development by modeling positive behavior, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-prepared classroom environment. Communicate effectively with lead teachers, program staff, and families, reporting any health, safety, or behavioral concerns promptly. Maintain accurate documentation including attendance records, daily logs, and incident reports as required. Follow all program policies, EEC licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and accountability in every assignment. 3. Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 6 months of experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, Head Start, or early intervention setting; comparable personal caregiving experience considered. Familiarity with Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations and early childhood best practices a plus. Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred; must be willing to obtain if not already certified. Reliable transportation required. Must be able to pass all required background checks, including CORI and EEC fingerprint verification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to actively supervise and engage with young children, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry children or objects up to 40 lbs., with or without assistance. Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities in varying New England weather conditions. Must be able to maintain composure and emotional regulation in a busy, dynamic classroom environment.
