Program Assistant Hope for Youth & Families Springfield, MA Job Details Part-time $30•$40 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications School experience Spanish English Organizational skills Teaching Full Job Description About Hope Literacy Hope for Youth and Families, Inc. is a Springfield-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth and families through free arts and literacy programming. Hope Literacy is committed to empowering youth through high-quality literacy programming rooted in the Science of Reading. We partner with schools and communities to support student growth and ensure equitable access to strong literacy instruction. Position Overview Hope Literacy is seeking a motivated and flexible Program Assistant to support the implementation and growth of our literacy programs. This role will begin as a part-time position in Summer 2026, with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the 2026-2027 school year. The Program Assistant will play a key role in supporting instructional programming, supervising staff, analyzing data, and maintaining strong communication between program staff and school partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in education who is eager to deepen their knowledge of reading instruction and program management. Key Responsibilities Program Support & Coordination Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of literacy programming Travel to schools and community spaces to support daily programming Adapt quickly to changing program needs and schedules Maintain organization of program materials, schedules, and logistics Staff Supervision & Coaching Supervise program staff and ensure alignment with program expectations at all Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and coaching to staff Observe staff performance and report updates, concerns, and successes to the supervisor Support a positive and professional team environment Data & Reporting Collect, organize, and analyze student and program data Use data to help inform program decisions and improvements•Communicate program progress and staff updates to supervisors and school administrators Communication & Collaboration Serve as a liaison between program staff, supervisors, and school partners Maintain professional communication with school administrators and stakeholders Collaborate effectively both independently and as part of a team Support a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and families Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field Experience in education (classroom teaching, tutoring, or youth programming preferred) Interest in and openness to learning the Science of Reading Experience or comfort with data analysis and using data to guide decisions Strong organizational skills and ability to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment Willingness to work in a team environment to support all programs Ability to supervise, coach, and support staff effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset Open-minded and able to work with diverse populations of students and staff Willingness to take direction and implement feedback Reliable Transportation for school visits and supervision requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience with literacy instruction or reading intervention Previous supervisory or team leadership experience Familiarity with school-based programs or partnerships Teacher Licensure in English or other related field Bilingual in English and Spanish Compensation Part-time summer compensation will be prorated between $30•40/Hour.
Salary Range:
$60,000•$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience (for full-time role), includes benefits
Pay:
$30.00•$40.00 per hour
