Job Description

Job Overview Teachable Moments is seeking a caring, energetic, and reliable Afternoon Teacher Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young learners. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's development while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 3:00 PM-5:30 PM or 3:30 PM-5:30
PM Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in implementing daily classroom activities and routines. Support children in developmentally appropriate activities, including art, sensory play, music, outdoor play, and group activities. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure safety and positive interactions. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Assist with classroom cleanup, sanitizing, and preparing materials for the next day. Provide attentive care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, including diapering, toileting, feeding, and comforting as needed. Encourage positive social-emotional development and model appropriate behavior. Communicate effectively with teachers regarding children's needs, progress, and daily experiences.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, camp, or similar setting preferred. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices. Ability to work with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
