Job Description

Special Education 1:1 Classroom Aide Join a leading non-public elementary school as a Special Education Classroom Aide. Your enthusiasm and dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs, including Autism, Intellectual, and other Learning Disabilities. The educational team offers a rewarding and positive working environment!
Location:
Joppa, MD (easy access of Rte. 95) Hourly rate: $18.75•$24.38 (rate based on degree and years of experience)
Schedule:
Monday•Friday 8:30am•4:30pm School calendar: 12 months
Responsibilities:
Provide a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the classroom. Provide individualized instruction and support to assigned student(s). Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to promote progress and success with assigned student(s). Assist Teacher with completion of necessary paperwork to accurately record student progress. This is to include daily attendance records, performance on current acquisition targets and maintenance skills, and behavioral data tracking. Maintain a safe learning environment for students. Supervise and manage student behavior in the classroom, school, and school-sponsored functions. Escort assigned students to all activities, as indicated by the IEP. May be required to provide support to students in transport to and from school and other activities.
Requirements:
Minimum of High School Diploma Experience working with children or adolescents Would consider individual with experience in servicing adults School experience is a PLUS Positive attitude!
