Job Description

Experience a rewarding contract position as a skilled Paraprofessional supporting middle school students with American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to make an impact in an educational setting, providing crucial assistance to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The assignment begins immediately and continues through June 4, 2027, allowing you to be an integral part of students' growth and success over several school years.
Key Qualifications:
Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential. High school diploma required; candidates must present a high school or college transcript if hired. Previous paraprofessional or school-based experience is necessary. Ability to collaborate with educators to support individualized student learning plans. A strong sense of empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group ASL interpretation and instructional support for middle school students. Facilitate effective communication between students and classroom teachers or peers. Assist in classroom activities, adapting lessons to meet students' language needs. Support classroom management and help foster an inclusive environment. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to instructional staff. Accompany students during non-instructional periods as needed to ensure consistent support. This contract role offers a pay rate of $52 per hour, combined with the potential to contribute to a dynamic scholastic environment.
