• Grand Rapids Beltline is seeking a caring and dependable Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to begin or grow a career in early childhood education. You'll work alongside an experienced Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom where preschoolers build confidence, independence, friendships, and a love of learning. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher with daily Preschool classroom routines and learning activities Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on experiences Support early literacy, language, math, creativity, and social-emotional development Encourage independence, problem-solving, and positive peer interactions Assist with meals, rest time, outdoor play, transitions, and classroom routines Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience working with children preferred, but not required CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented Willingness to learn and grow within early childhood education Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements What We Offer Competitive pay of $16
