Job Skills / Requirements WMJ Services is seeking a dedicated, collaborative Teacher Assistant to support students within Grandville Public Schools. In this role, you will partner with educators to foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. You will play a key role in supporting diverse learners, including students with special needs. The essential soft skills critical in this role are; patience, empathy, adaptability, communication, fostering independence and collaboration. Preferred qualifications:
Two years of college or Associate's (or higher) degree or confirmation of passing the MTTC basic skills test or WorkKeys Experience with students with limited English language proficiency General understanding of special education and autism Experience working with students age 4-10 Minimal qualifications: Must complete fingerprinting required by Michigan State Licensing and the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Proven team player who works well with other educators Key responsibilities: Maintain a safe, positive learning environment Work collaboratively with teachers and staff Assist students with limited English proficiency Implement strategies for special education students Standard school hours for this role.
