This vital role provides personalized support to students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum, fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment. You will work closely with teachers, specialists, and families to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), promote positive behavior, and support academic and social growth. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to early childhood education and special education initiatives while gaining valuable classroom experience. Duties Provide one-on-one instructional support tailored to each student's IEP goals, including literacy, math, and social skills development Assist students with daily classroom activities, including curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and curriculum development aligned with special education standards Support students' behavioral management needs by implementing behavior intervention strategies and behavior management techniques for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders Collaborate effectively with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive student support Manage confidential information responsibly while maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for all students Experience Prior experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings, including Montessori or toddler care environments Demonstrated classroom management skills in special education or general education classrooms Experience supporting students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities Knowledge of childhood development principles and familiarity with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards for educational equity Background in behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs Experience working with IEPs and implementing individualized instructional plans Strong writing and communication skills to document student progress and collaborate effectively with team members Join us to empower young learners through compassionate support, innovative teaching strategies, and a commitment to inclusive education.
