JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
Paraprofessional - Bus Aide
REPORTS TO
Director of Transportation SUMMARY:
Bus Aides help to work to ensure a safe and secure environment on the school bus for students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Personal or professional experience with basic childcare 18 years of age or older Pass a background check Experience working with school age children Possess or successfully complete Special Needs Training
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in sanitizing the interior of the bus to provide clean and safe environment Assists the Driver with student management Assists the Driver with maintaining the attendance sheets Working knowledge of the Transportation Operation Manual Coordinates with Director of Transportation all safety concerns Attends all staff meetings, team meetings and training as requested Performs any other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom, and moving light furniture may be required.
SAFETY AND HEALTH
Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS HANDLED
Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Job responsibilities may include both inside and outside duties. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. After hour work may be required. May make site or home visits when needed and appropriate. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 month employee
Hourly Pay:
$14.78 - $18.48 per hour
