This part-time position (59% FTE) involves supporting the Montessori teaching staff in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the Montessori philosophy and possess the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families. Hours 8:30 - Noon Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing the Montessori curriculum and educational activities. Support individual and small group instruction in various subjects, fostering a love for learning. Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers on student needs and achievements. Prepare and maintain classroom materials and resources, ensuring an organized and inviting learning space. Facilitate a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere, encouraging student independence and self-discipline. Assist with classroom management and support students during transitions and activities. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a strong school community. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of Montessori practices. Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in early childhood education or Montessori methods is preferred. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting, preferably in a Montessori environment. Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the classroom. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus. Background check clearance as required by school policy.
