GENERAL SUMMARY
The paraprofessional will work closely with one or a few students on a regular basis in order to providethem with the physical help and emotional support they need to gain the full benefits from theireducational placement under the direction of the supervising teacher(s). Compensation per Tahquamenon Area Schools Support Personnel Association agreement. (Startingwage is currently $17.50 per hour plus retirement and benefits.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Other duties may be assigned.)1. To assist assigned students in any physical tasks as directed by supervisor.2. Give reinforcement and support to students in various course subject areas or as directed bysupervisor.3. Support the teacher on methods, materials and strategies for reinforcements on target students.

Teacher plans all lessons and be responsible for instruction.4. Aid teacher, when requested, in communication between home and school.5. Participate in on-going staff development as directed.6. Communicate regularly with teachers as to students' needs and progress.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor students as they arrive from busses in the morning.2. Supervise student lunch times as directed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk or stand. Theemployee may be required to offer physical assistance including toileting, or diapering. The employeemay also be required to restrain a child.
