Duties Assist teachers with daily instructional activities, including literacy and math lessons, ensuring all students are actively engaged and supported. Support students with special needs, including those with disabilities or autism, by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting activities to meet diverse learning requirements. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, creating a safe and respectful environment conducive to learning. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other school-related events to ensure their safety and well-being. Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, classroom organization, and educational technology integration to enhance student learning experiences. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns to foster a strong home-school connection. Maintain compliance with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and uphold school policies on safety, confidentiality, and child supervision. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Familiarity with special education strategies, classroom management techniques, and behavior management tools. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to use computers and educational technologies to support instruction. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus. Demonstrated ability to supervise children responsibly while ensuring their safety at all times. Understanding of educational compliance standards such as ESSA regulations.
