Job Description
GSRP Lead teacher GSRP 3rd Teacher Hours will be 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Must have CDA and willing to obtain or have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education Overview Join our dedicated early childhood education team as a GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Lead and Assistant Teacher, where you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to influence early childhood development through innovative curriculum implementation, hands-on teaching, and meaningful parent communication. As a key team member, you will support children's growth in literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and physical development while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom setting. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula aligned with early childhood standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Create engaging lesson plans that promote active learning, curiosity, and developmental milestones for preschool-aged children. Provide direct instruction to children, utilizing best practices in child development instruction and classroom management to foster a positive learning environment. Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring safety, behavior management, and adherence to mandated reporting laws. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about child progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings, updates, and written reports. Support children's physical health by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications; respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies. Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities that incorporate childcare best practices and support individualized learning needs. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, standardized testing results, and other documentation required for program compliance. Experience Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and experience implementing curriculum development strategies. Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention programs is advantageous. Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing environment. Strong communication skills for parent engagement and collaboration with team members. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential. Classroom experience involving preschool teaching, toddler care, or physical education enhances your candidacy. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire; additional certifications in special education or literacy education are a plus.
