Overview Airport Road Christian Learning Center is looking for a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher to join our ARCLC team. You'll work alongside our lead teachers to help create safe, joyful, faith-centered environments where children can learn and grow. This is a great fit for someone early in their early childhood education career, or anyone who loves working with kids and wants hands-on classroom experience in a supportive setting. Our program is built on the ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum, blended with HighScope active-learning components. What You'll Do Support the lead teacher in carrying out daily lesson plans and activities Help supervise children during classroom time, meals, outdoor play, and transitions Assist with setting up and cleaning up classroom materials and activity stations Provide warm, attentive care that supports children's social, emotional, and physical needs Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing standards Support children with special needs or additional care needs as directed by the lead teacher Build friendly, trustworthy relationships with children, parents, and coworkers Step in to lead small groups or activities as needed What We're Looking For A genuine love for working with young children Willingness to take direction from and work closely with a lead teacher Patience, reliability, and a team-first attitude Prior experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting is a plus but not required — we're happy to train Must be able to pass a background check through Michigan's Central Registry/Department of Health and Human Services childcare background check system, including fingerprinting A genuine, personal Christian faith that you're comfortable integrating into daily classroom life Why Join Us This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in early childhood education, work alongside an experienced lead teacher, and be part of a warm, faith-driven community that invests in its staff.
