Teacher's AideYoung Minds Learning Center | Duluth, MN Young Minds Learning Center (YMLC) is a small, independently operated childcare center in Duluth, MN. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and develop. We are looking for a dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Teacher's Aide who enjoys working with children and is invested in supporting their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Our Work Environment Supportive and collaborative team environment Professional yet relaxed atmosphere Casual and practical work attire On-the-job training and mentorship Opportunities to develop skills and experience in early childhood education Supportive administrative team that values communication and teamwork Position Responsibilities The Teacher's Aide works closely with the Lead Teacher and classroom team to support the daily care, supervision, and development of the children.
Responsibilities include:
Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate classroom activities. Provide attentive care, supervision, and guidance to children throughout the day. Encourage positive social interactions and help children develop appropriate communication and social-emotional skills. Assist with daily routines, including meals, snacks, rest periods, diapering, and bathroom needs. Support children with a variety of developmental, behavioral, and individual needs, including children on the autism spectrum. Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Assist with transitions and daily classroom routines. Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and other staff members to provide consistent care and support. Follow YMLC policies, procedures, and applicable childcare licensing requirements. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with children, families, and staff. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, school, or similar setting preferred. Coursework or an interest in Early Childhood Education is a plus. Familiarity with positive behavior guidance strategies is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependable, responsible, patient, and flexible. Demonstrates genuine care, respect, and compassion for children. Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
