Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Bring your skills as a Paraprofessional to an engaging and supportive environment serving a dynamic district near Elk River, MN. This contract opportunity offers six floating sub paraprofessional positions, supporting multiple crews across a diverse caseload within the district. Assignments will involve covering call outs and providing essential classroom support in specialized and general education settings.
Key Qualifications:
Must meet
ONE:
Pass MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam OR possess at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required) Submit a current resume and the relevant highly qualified document to be considered Previous experience in a school environment, especially working with students managing behaviors and following Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Comfortable providing assistance, including toileting duties, with flexibility to serve in both 1:1 and classroom aide roles Reliable transportation to travel between different school sites as needed Ability to adapt quickly, maintain professionalism, and communicate effectively with supervisors
Role Responsibilities:
Float across elementary, middle, and high schools within assigned district crews OR support the specialized Rivertrail Learning Center (Setting 4 program) Respond to supervisor notifications and fill in daily where coverage is needed Follow individualized education and behavior plans, maintain a safe classroom environment, and support diverse learning needs Guarantee support for 30 hours per week on weeks school is in session (paid minimum even if not needed every day, provided available shifts are accepted) Demonstrate flexibility, positive attitude, and active engagement within multiple school communities This role offers predictable, guaranteed hours: 30 hours each week school is in session, with scheduling flexibility and the opportunity to make a significant difference in students' lives every day.
