Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in a student's life while gaining valuable experience in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours during the school year within a dedicated middle school setting. In this role, you will work 1:1 with a female middle school student with significant disabilities and non-verbal communication needs. Compassion, patience, and adaptability are essential qualities in supporting her day-to-day learning and personal care. With ample classroom support, youll foster a safe and encouraging space for your students growth and well-being.
Knowledge, Skills & Certifications:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or working with individuals with disabilities, especially students, is highly valued At least two years of post-secondary education (60 semester credits/90 quarter credits), Paraprofessional Test Certification, or a relevant college degree Comfort and ability to assist with toileting, lifting, and feeding duties; female candidates are preferred due to the nature of certain personal care responsibilities Calm, kind, and patient demeanora must for responding to challenging behaviors with understanding Able to participate in in-person interviews and work in the Oakdale area
Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support, assisting the student with academic and daily living needs Engage in proactive behavior management strategies in a supported classroom setting Assist with personal care, including toileting and feeding, as required Collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to implement learning and care plans Safeguard the dignity and respect of the student at all times This is a fulfilling full-time, school-year position (32.5 hours per week), offering hands-on involvement in a rewarding educational environment.
