r42922-55109 Job Description Special Education Paraprofessional $26$31/hr | St. Paul, MN Area ProCare Therapy is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals for full-time school-based positions in the northern St. Paul, Minnesota area. These positions offer the opportunity to work directly with students with disabilities across a variety of specialized programs. Assignments are available from early childhood through transition-age programming, with opportunities ranging from classroom support to intensive 1:1 student assignments. Hours range from 32.540 hours per week depending on the program, caseload, and responsibilities. Pay ranges from $26$31 per hour based on experience and the level of support required by the assignment. Available Programs & Assignments Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Support young children from birth through age 5 who receive Special Education services. Paraprofessionals may assist with early learning, communication, developmental skills, behavior, mobility, classroom routines, and other individualized needs. Mod/Severe K12 Program A specialized, non-traditional K12 Special Education setting supporting students with more intensive academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This includes elementary-age students and may involve higher levels of behavioral and individualized support. The Mod/Severe program has been identified as a Level 4 program, making these assignments particularly well suited for paraprofessionals with experience in intensive Special Education, behavior support, ABA, mental health, or similar environments. Transition Program Work with students with disabilities as they prepare for life after high school. Support may focus on employment skills, independent living, community participation, transportation, communication, and other functional life skills. Building-Based Special Education Paraprofessionals may be assigned directly to elementary, middle, or high schools throughout the area. Positions can include supporting an entire Special Education classroom, working with small groups, or assisting individual students throughout their school day. 1:1 / Individual Student Support Some paraprofessionals are assigned specifically to one student based on their IEP. These assignments can involve behavioral, medical, mobility, personal-care, communication, or intensive instructional needs. What You May Be Doing Responsibilities vary considerably by assignment. You may assist students academically, reinforce positive behaviors, support classroom routines and transitions, help with mobility or transportation, provide personal care or toileting assistance when required, and work alongside teachers and Special Education professionals to help students become more independent. Candidates with backgrounds in Special Education, ABA, behavioral health, caregiving, childcare, DSP work, autism services, mental health, or other hands-on support roles are encouraged to apply.
