The Early Childhood Aide supports the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, promoting the development of social and academic skills, and fostering a love for learning through a faith-based lens.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the daily curriculum and educational activities. Prepare materials and set up the classroom for various activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Child Supervision:
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and nap periods. Ensure safety and well-being of all children at all times.
Behavior Management:
Support positive behavior by modeling and encouraging respectful interactions among children. Help implement classroom rules and routines established by the Lead Teacher.
Faith Integration:
Participate in integrating biblical principles and stories into daily activities and interactions. Assist in leading prayers and other faith-based activities as directed by the Lead Teacher.
Individual Support:
Provide attention and support to individual children as needed, including those with varying learning abilities. Observe and report on children's progress and any concerns regarding their development to the Lead Teacher.
Family Interaction:
Communicate with parents and guardians about children's daily experiences when appropriate. Assist in creating a welcoming environment for families during drop-off and pick-up times.
Health and Safety:
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, following health and safety guidelines. Help with meal preparation and clean-up, ensuring proper hygiene practices. Assist with classroom cleaning throughout and at the end of day
Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities as required. Stay informed about early childhood education best practices and classroom management techniques.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus. Previous experience working with young children, particularly in a daycare or preschool setting, preferred. Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and a commitment to Christian values. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
