Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference by supporting young learners in an engaging elementary school environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to foster growth and development for students in grades 1, 3, and 4. Collaborate with a dedicated educational team as a Functional Skills Instructional Assistant, helping children thrive academically and personally.
Key Qualifications:
Active Missouri substitute certificate or valid paraprofessional certification is required Experience assisting students with functional skills preferred Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with students and staff Adaptable, patient, and committed to supporting diverse learning needs Previous experience in educational or school settings is highly valuedResponsibilities:
Provide hands-on instructional support in Grade 1, 3, and 4 classrooms Assist lead teachers in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment Work one-on-one or in small groups with students requiring functional skills support Support the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) Use effective strategies to encourage student independence and confidence Maintain a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere at all times Collaborate with faculty and staff to address student goals and progressWhy You'll Love This Role:
