Make a real impact each day by supporting students with high needs in a rewarding contract paraprofessional position near Kansas City, MO. This role offers the chance to provide dedicated 1:1 assistance for two female studentsone in 4th grade and one in 11th gradeboth of whom are medically fragile. Your support will play a crucial role in their educational experience and daily well-being.
What youll bring:
Experience working as a paraprofessional or instructional aide in a school setting Compassion and sensitivity when supporting medically fragile students Willingness and ability to assist with personal care, including toileting and diapering Patience and composure when working with behaviors (experience with behavioral support is a plus) Familiarity with or willingness to learn use of a Hoyer lift; on-site training is provided for those new to this equipment Strong communication and team collaboration skills Dependable and enthusiastic approach to helping students succeed In this role, your responsibilities will include: Providing attentive, individualized care and academic support to assigned students Assisting with mobility, personal care routines, and daily activities as needed Managing and redirecting behaviors according to individualized plans Collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment Participating in weekly Tuesday team meetings starting at 8:00 am; standard building hours are 8:45 am4:15 pm This position is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about making a tangible difference for students requiring extra care.
