PART-TIME
We are looking to hire experienced assistants. We are building a school family of educators who put the needs of children first. Our teachers facilitate learning through play, offering opportunities for children to grow their confidence, autonomy, and problem-solving skills. Qualified candidates will be eager to learn new methods and capable of meeting our high standards. Assistant teachers are active participants in the daily operation of the classroom. We encourage lead and assistant teachers to share daily duties such as leading circle times, serving meals, diapering/toileting, and cleaning. The assistant teacher will be responsible for maintaining the classroom routine, implementing lesson plans, and giving direction to substitutes in the absence of the lead teacher.
Must be able to:
Assist lead teacher in creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with school standards and play-based practice Take direction and learn from lead teacher Follow developmentally appropriate teaching practices Foster children's social emotional development through modeling and direct instruction Collaborate with lead teacher to create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration Assist lead teacher in completing formal and informal assessments to monitor children's development Communicate appropriately and knowledgably with families about children's development, under the direction of the lead teacher Engage with children and facilitate learning through play Display classroom management skills, using proven strategies and best practice, under the direction of the lead teacher Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, following state licensing and sanitation guidelines Physical requirements: Lift up to 50lbs, repeatedly Stand and walk for long periods Easily move between standing and sitting on the floor Perform various tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and participating in gross motor activities Background screening requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background screening and fingerprinting process
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
