A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Principal Qualifications:
Must meet federal NCLB requirements; Associates Degree or 48 semester hours of higher education is required. Applicants must have good oral and written communication skills as well as basic computer program skills. Candidates must be able to exert negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Individuals must have, or obtain shortly after become employed, their CDL and they must maintain their CDL throughout their employment in order to remain employed. Previous experience working with children in a learning environment preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, this individual performs a wide variety of tasks, which includes the following: Provide instructional support; Provide academic assistant; Keeps accurate records; Monitors student behavior; Treats students with respect; and Preforms other related duties as assigned, which includes driving and/or monitoring a school bus as needed.
