Kindergarten Teacher Assistant About Heritage Christian Academy Heritage Christian Academy is a Transitional Kindergarten-10th grade Christian school that exists to challenge hearts and minds to pursue Christ and lead others to follow by knowing, loving, and discipling each student. We partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education that develops students academically, spiritually, and in character. Position Overview The Kindergarten Teacher Assistant plays an essential role in supporting the Lead Teacher and creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered classroom. This position is ideal for someone who loves young children, enjoys working as part of a team, and desires to make a lasting impact during a child's foundational years of learning and faith development. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom instruction and activities. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and build foundational skills. Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and hands-on activities. Foster a warm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment. Encourage positive behavior and model Christ-like character in all interactions. Assist with classroom organization, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other daily routines. Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the school day. Communicate professionally with the Lead Teacher and school staff regarding student needs and classroom operations. Participate in school events, staff meetings, professional development, and spiritual activities as requested. Qualifications High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred. Experience working with young children is preferred. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with Heritage Christian Academy's Statement of Faith. A genuine love for children and a heart for Christian education. Positive attitude, flexibility, dependability, and a servant's heart. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
