Position Title:
Teacher/Instructional Assistant
Reports To:
Principal and Teacher/Bus Supervisor

10 Months (School Year Calendar)

Performance to be evaluated annually by the school principal and the bus supervisor
Education/Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or 2 years (min. 48 semester hrs.) of higher education Computer Skills Must be eligible for school bus driver's license (CDL). Position Summary The Instructional Assistant supports the educational program by working collaboratively with teachers and staff to provide high-quality instruction, maintain a safe and positive learning environment, and support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth of students. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to meeting the needs of all learners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Support Assist teachers in delivering small-group instruction. Reinforce classroom lessons and learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher. Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher. Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning. Student Supervision and Safety Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, buses, and during school activities. Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. Monitor student behavior and implement school-wide expectations and procedures. Respond appropriately to student needs and emergencies. Help ensure the physical safety and emotional well-being of all students. Collaboration Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, specialists, administrators, and other support staff. Participate in professional learning and staff meetings as assigned. Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding student needs and progress. Support school initiatives and contribute positively to the school culture. Transportation Support Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements or be willing to obtain one upon employment. Serve as a substitute bus driver as needed to ensure the safe transportation of students. Maintain all required certifications and training related to school bus operation. Additional Responsibilities Assist with arrival, dismissal, and other school-wide duties. Maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
