Job Description

The Birches Academy of Academics & Art is a STEAM integrated charter school in Salem, NH. We are seeking a Teaching Assistants to assist a Lead Teacher for the 26-27 school year.

• Assist the Lead Teacher in the implementation of a rigorous core academic program
  
• Assist the Lead Teacher to integrate STEAM into the core curriculum/ Middle School Math
  
• Instruct and facilitate student learning
  
• Foster critical thinking in students
  
• Provide emotionally and developmentally appropriate experiences for students
  
• Adjust instruction to engage/challenge learners, encourage independent learning & to develop a lifelong love of learning in students
  
• Assist in the supervision of student lunch and recess periods
  
• Work as a professional member of a grade level teaching team
  
• Assist the Lead Teacher in meeting individual needs of each student
  
• Minimum of one shift in our before and/or after care program
  
• Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings
  
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  
• Bachelor degree preferred but not necessary
  
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
  This is not a special ed/para position and is good experience for someone who may want to become a Teacher
