Key Qualifications:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school-based support role Proven ability to deliver exceptional 1:1 care, particularly in a pediatric or educational setting Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and family members Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to assisting students with diverse needs Organizational skills for managing daily routines and reinforcing positive behaviors High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework in education or child development preferred
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized support to a student, ensuring their safety, engagement, and inclusion in classroom activities Collaborate with teachers and specialized staff to implement academic and behavioral plans Assist with daily routines, including transitions, meal times, and personal care as needed Document observations and communicate student progress to the education team and families Foster a positive, encouraging environment that empowers the student to reach their full potential Participate in ongoing staff meetings, trainings, and professional development When you take on this position, you not only become an integral part of a student's educational journey, but you also develop valuable skills working within a collaborative and supportive school team.
