In-Person, CASLV Cadence Campus -Henderson, NV Position Type:
Full-Time, 10-Month (2026-2027) Position Summary The Special Education Aide supports the academic, behavioral, and functional needs of students with disabilities by assisting special education teachers in providing individualized and small-group instruction. This position ensures students receive the necessary accommodations and supports to access the curriculum in an inclusive and respectful environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Support:
Assist with the implementation of IEP goals and accommodation under teacher direction. Work with students individually or in small groups on academic and functional skills. Reinforce teacher-provided instruction and monitor student progress.Behavioral & Social Support:
Support students in developing positive behaviors and social interactions. Provide supervision and redirection during transitions, unstructured times, and activities. Assist with behavior intervention plans and data collection as directed.General Student Support:
Support students with mobility, communication, and self-help skills, as needed. Accompany students to general education classes and provide assistance as required. Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.Collaboration & Documentation:
Collaborate with special education teachers, general education staff, and related service providers. Maintain confidentiality of student records and follow all FERPA requirements. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development related to student needs.Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work patiently and respectfully with students with diverse needs. Must pass a background check and complete required training.Preferred:
Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting. Associate's degree or higher, or completion of paraprofessional certification. Skills and Attributes Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education. Ability to follow directions and implement plans with fidelity. Reliable, flexible, and collaborative approach to team-based work. Work Environment This is a full-time, in-person position based at a CASLV school campus. May involve physical activities such as lifting, assisting with mobility, or supporting toileting routines.
