Aide Job Description Position Overview:

The Aide will support the Kindergarten students and teacher. The aide will assist the classroom teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, and organized learning environment for young children. The aide will assist in daily activities, manage classroom materials, and help reinforce instructional objectives. This position runs from 8:30-12:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and 8:30-3:15 on Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classroom Support:

  Assist the teacher in preparing and organizing lesson materials, setting up learning centers, and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.

• Student Assistance:

  Provide individual and group support to students during activities.

• Behavior Management:

  Help monitor student behavior, reinforce positive behavior, and assist with conflict resolution when necessary.

• Communication:

  Collaborate with the teacher to communicate student progress, behavior, and needs.

Classroom Management:

Assist with the organization of classroom materials, supplies, and resources to promote an effective learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in early childhood education preferred.

• Experience:

  Previous experience working with young children in a school or daycare setting is preferred.

Skills:

Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• The role is based in a classroom setting within an elementary school.
• The aide will work closely with children and other school staff.

$16.50 per hour
