Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting young students as a dedicated paraprofessional in a vibrant educational environment near Corning, NY. This contract position provides the opportunity to work 1:1 with preschool students, including within ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) programs, across engaging school communities. Youll provide essential support, helping foster growth, development, and independence for students requiring additional assistance. This position is ideal for compassionate individuals who are eager to contribute to the lives of children in a school setting. Assignments are available onsite in multiple locations with a schedule of 32.5 hours per week through June 2027.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in preschool, school settings, or behavior-focused roles is required for Aides. NY Teachers Assistant Certification is required for Assistant positions. Background in supporting children with behavioral needs, including ASD, is strongly preferred. Comfort with hands-on caregiving tasks, including diaper changing as needed. Dependability, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and therapists. Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized support to assigned preschool students in academic and daily routines. Foster positive social, emotional, and behavioral development. Assist with classroom tasks, promote inclusion, and implement individualized behavior plans. Work directly and consistently onsite as part of a collaborative educational team. Maintain clear communication with teachers, specialists, and family members as needed.
