Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or New York State Teachers Assistant Certification (for assistant roles) Prior background in school or preschool settings, especially with behavioral or medical needs Comfortable assisting students with medical requirements, including support for those who use wheelchairs Experience in 1:1 settings within ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) programs or multi-disabled classrooms is highly valued Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting diverse learners Commitment to onsite work throughout the contract term

Key Responsibilities:

Offer direct, individualized assistance to students with special needs in accordance with teacher and care team guidance Support students with mobility, medical, or behavioral challenges, maintaining safety and comfort at all times Foster a positive learning environment, helping students engage in classroom activities and achieve their individual goals Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and caregivers to develop and implement instructional strategies and daily care routines Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and care, ensuring clear communication with the educational team
