Part-Time About Us Kumon is the world's largest after-school math and reading program, dedicated to helping students develop strong academic skills, self-learning ability, and confidence. Our New Rochelle center is seeking a responsible, patient, and detail-oriented Assistant High School Math Instructor to support students during class sessions. Position Summary This is NOT a summer job looking to be filled. The Assistant Instructor plays a key role in supporting class operations by guiding students through their assignments, grading worksheets, and helping maintain a positive and focused learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and value education. Responsibilities Assist students (Pre-K through high school) with Kumon Math and Reading worksheets Grade assignments quickly and accurately using answer keys Provide positive support while encouraging independent learning Monitor student progress and maintain organized student files Prepare and organize class materials before and after class Maintain a quiet, focused, and welcoming classroom environment Communicate effectively with instructors and staff Assist with light administrative duties as needed Qualifications High school graduate Strong proficiency in middle school to high school level mathematics required Ability to complete math work through Algebra II or higher preferred Strong reading comprehension skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Patient and enjoys working with children Reliable, punctual, and able to follow structured routines Strong communication and teamwork skills Schedule & Availability Applicants must be available during the following times: Mondays•
Thursdays:
3:30 PM•7:30 PM Every other
Friday:
3:30 PM•7:30 PM (staff training days)
Occasional Saturdays:
9:30 AM•1:00 PM Consistent availability during these hours is required to support class operations and training. Benefits Meaningful experience working in education Training provided Supportive team environment Opportunity for growth within the center
Pay:
$17.00•$18.50 per hour Expected hours: 10.0•15.0 per week
