full-time Quality Technician - Food Manufacturing ???? Mount Vernon, NY | Full-Time We are hiring a Quality Technician for a food manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on food production experience who is detail-oriented, dependable, and interested in building a career in Quality Control / Food Safety. You will work both on the production floor and in the QC area , performing inspections, basic product testing, environmental monitoring, documentation, and quality checks. Candidates with strong food manufacturing experience but limited formal QC experience may be considered and trained. What You'll Do Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished products for quality and specification compliance. Perform physical, chemical, and sensory product evaluations. Conduct pre-operational inspections and environmental swabbing, including ATP, allergen, and microbial testing. Perform production line audits for GMP, allergen control, labeling, and weight compliance. Calibrate and maintain basic testing equipment such as thermometers, pH meters, and refractometers. Maintain accurate quality, batch, testing, and hold records. Identify quality or food-safety deviations and escalate issues promptly. Support product holds, corrective actions, and preventive actions. Work closely with production to maintain food safety and quality standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Food manufacturing or food production experience strongly preferred. 1-3 years of QC/QA experience preferred, but not required for candidates with relevant food manufacturing experience. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Comfortable working on the production floor and in refrigerated/cold environments. Basic math and computer skills. HACCP, PCQI, SQF, GMP, or food safety experience is a plus.
