Job Description

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
One to one's perform non-instructional duties under direct supervision of a teacher. One to one's are required to have a high school diploma or GED. One to one's are expected to support the specially designed instruction of the assigned student as requested by the teacher. They must also assist the teacher with behavioral management of that assigned student. During daily instruction, one to one's are expected to document or chart observable behaviors of the assigned student. It is expected that the one to one will keep the student focused on teacher-developed goals, objectives, lessons and activities designed especially for the assigned student. They must also escort the assigned student throughout the school day to and from all classes, the restroom, and all other scheduled activities. At no time will the one to one be alone with a student without administration approval. One to one's are also expected to attend team meetings to discuss the assigned student's progress. They must also develop and submit to the teacher qualitative reports based on the observable data collected. All behaviors and matters related to the assigned student's behavior and progress are confidential and protected under the federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and may only be shared with the classroom teacher and appropriate therapists with administration approval.
