Position Description The IDEAL school is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and collaborative special educator with excellent communication and leadership skills to ensure the seamless integration of instructional and behavioral support in an inclusive classroom setting. The Student Support Coordinator, in collaboration with faculty, related service providers, and administrators, serves as a central resource for Associate Teachers, providing real-time coaching on appropriate modifications and interventions. IDEAL expands the definition of diversity to include ability and creates a culture that affirms the identity of each individual within our community. Thus, candidates must possess the knowledge, experience, flexibility, interpersonal skills, passion for inclusion, and love of children that are necessary for successful inclusion. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coach and support Associate Teachers (AT), providing immediate, actionable feedback on their support of students with diverse needs Maintain a "feedback log" for all ATs to track their growth in implementing differentiated strategies and behavioral interventions Support professional development to ensure ATs are consistently applying the program's specific methodologies Support the Director of the Dylan Program in developing student Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs), gathering data from various stakeholders to draft goals that are both attainable and challenging, and providing consistent documentation to support hearings, as appropriate Oversee the systems used by Associate Teachers to track student progress towards goals in accordance with Individualized Learning Plans Monitor Associate Teacher attendance and schedules, ensuring that all coverage needs are met Provide training and guidance to associate teachers on daily family communications and the preparation of quarterly reports Coordinate staffing during high-need times of the day (transitions, lunch, or behavioral crises) to maintain a safe and productive learning environment Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the school Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required in Education or related field Professional experience in working with students with disabilities A passion for working with students with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities in an inclusive setting Comfort with co-regulation and de-escalation Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Independent school experience preferred At least 5 years of relevant, hands-on teaching or therapeutic experience preferred Familiarity with Universal Design for

Salary Range:
$65,000-80,000 (this represents the expected salary range for this position.
