Job Description
The Phelps Community Center Early Learning Center, Inc. is a child care center providing comprehensive care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our Infant/Toddler classrooms range from 6weeks to age 3. We encourage learning through inquiry, using an emergent as well as thematic curriculum approach, based on the interests and passions of the children enrolled. We strongly believe that early childhood learning is the result of the child's experiences...through actions, relationships, inquiries, opportunities and repetition. The Phelps Community Center is looking for an Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher that reflects and supports our approach to learning. A qualified candidate must have, minimally, a High School Diploma. An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) or a CDA specializing in Infants/Toddlers and one year experience in a formal childcare setting specific to infants and/or Toddlers is preferred.
An Aide will:
Build relationships with children, families and staff. Assist in preparation, documentation and implementation of lesson plans into the daily routines of the classroom. Assist Lead Teacher in coordinating responsibilities amongst co-workers in the classroom to accomplish the daily needs and expectations of the classroom. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, nurturing and organized environment for the children to grow and learn in. Assist in maintaining accurate classroom records required by Phelps Community Center ELC, Inc. and the Office of Child and Family Service. Relay parental questions and concerns for the children in the classroom to the lead teacher.Job Type:
