Teacher Aides - Entry Level | Support School Age & Preschool Children (Brookville, NY)
Location:
Brookville, NY (Nassau County / Long Island)
Full Time:
Mon-Fri, 8:30am - 3:30pm (32.5 hours weekly) 12
Month School Program Entry Level Hourly Rate:
$18.50 /hr Join our team as a Teacher Aide and support school‑age and/or preschool children with intellectual and other disabilities (I/DD) by helping create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment in collaboration with a dedicated team. At Brookville Center for Children's Services , we provide comprehensive services for children 3-21 years of age with intellectual and other disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. Our mission is to educate and support children of all abilities. Teacher Aides assist the assigned teacher in all areas of the daily classroom routine under supervision. This includes supporting students as directed, preparing classroom materials, maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic environment, and providing adequate supervision/preparation with bussing, hallway, playground, snack, and clean-up activities. Responsibilities may also include assisting with personal care and activities of daily living, following classroom and individual behavior support plans, and facilitating positive interactions among students and adults. Teacher Aides collaborate daily with classroom staff, school leadership, and clinical teams, attend staff, team, and parent meetings as assigned, participate in planning sessions, adhere to all organizational and regulatory policies, maintain confidentiality, and complete required trainings.

We Require:
High school diploma or equivalency Within six (6) months of hire, obtain NYS Teacher Assistant Certification Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively Experience working with children and special education students preferred Physical aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of students.
