Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our vibrant educational team. Duties Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities, including literacy and math lessons, ensuring alignment with educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Support classroom behavior management and implement behavior intervention strategies to promote positive conduct. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement. Help prepare educational materials and set up learning spaces to facilitate effective teaching and learning experiences. Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, student assessments, and progress monitoring to support individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special needs. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom events to foster strong home-school connections. Utilize computers and educational technologies to enhance instruction and student engagement. Maintain compliance with educational regulations and school policies while supporting inclusive practices for diverse learners. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood or elementary settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles, childhood development, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, and classroom technology tools. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and students. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire. Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is a plus. Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while maintaining a safe environment for all children. Understanding of educational compliance standards such as ESSA and familiarity with private school environments is advantageous.
