Job Description
One-on-One Teacher Aide - School of Opportunity Make a difference every day! The School of Opportunity is seeking a caring, dependable, and patient One-on-One Teacher Aide to provide individualized support to a student in our school setting. This position will work closely with the student and classroom staff to support the student's academic, social, communication, self-help, functional living, vocational, leisure, and community-based skills as identified in the student's IEP.
What You'll Do:
Provide one-on-one support and supervision throughout the school day Assist the student with daily routines, learning activities, and skill development Support implementation of the student's IEP under the direction of classroom staff Assist with communication, socialization, self-help, and functional skills Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment Work as part of a team with teachers, related-service providers, and other school staff

Caring and patient approach Dependable and responsible Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is helpful, but not required
Important Employment Information:
This position will be assigned to and work at the School of Opportunity , but the successful candidate will be employed through the local Educational Service Center (ESC), not the Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities . The School of Opportunity will participate in the selection of the candidate , with employment being processed through the ESC. Requirements :
Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Certificate or ability to obtain Must clear a background check Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
•Position will be hired as employees of North Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ESC) but work at the Seneca County Board of DD, "The Opportunity Center."
