9669809-74059 Job Description Step into a rewarding role supporting student success as a paraprofessional working one-on-one with a 6th-grade student. This is a full-time contract position at 35 hours per week, running from now through May 2027. You'll work in a welcoming educational setting near Perkins, OK, providing essential guidance and structure each school day. Candidates with direct experience supporting students with autism are strongly desired, as you'll tailor your approach to best meet the individual needs of the student in your care. Qualifications & Desired Experience Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in a school-based setting Demonstrated expertise in working with students with autism Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both with students and staff Ability to remain calm, encouraging, and proactive in challenging situations High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in education or behavioral support is a plus Key Responsibilities Provide individualized academic and behavioral support for a 6th-grade student with autism Reinforce lessons and adapt materials in accordance with teacher plans and student needs Assist with implementing behavior intervention strategies and fostering social-emotional skills Monitor student progress and document daily notes Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure continuity of care and support Promote an inclusive, respectful learning environment Working in this setting offers you the chance to make a real difference while building valuable skills for your career in education.
