As a contract paraprofessional working one-on-one with a high-needs student at the post-secondary transition level, you'll become an essential support in facilitating growth and independence. Your day will begin by accompanying the student on the bus, ensuring a safe and smooth start, and continue to foster a positive learning experience alongside a classroom team that includes a paraeducator and a special education teacher.

What You'll Bring:

Previous experience as a school paraprofessional, particularly supporting students with diverse needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic environments Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and fellow support staff Commitment to creating an inclusive and encouraging setting for all learners

Daily Responsibilities:

Provide direct, individualized support to a high-needs student throughout the school day (8:00 AM 3:30 PM) Assist the student with academic, behavioral, and social activities under the guidance of classroom staff Safely accompany the student to and from school on the bus, maintaining close supervision and a calm environment Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and follow protocols to promote student achievement Contribute to team meetings and daily planning to refine strategies for student success Gain the satisfaction of knowing your work empowers a student to overcome challenges and realize his or her potential.
