We're looking for a warm, dependable full-time Assistant Teacher — a steady second set of hands in a small, well-established in-home program, and someone the kids light up around and the parents come to trust.

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (full-time).

immediately. About Rise & Shine Rise & Shine is a licensed, in-home Certified Family Child Care program two minutes from Bethany Village in Portland, serving children ages 1-5 years. It's run by owner and lead teacher Megha Gupta, who brings 10+ years of childcare experience, including Montessori methods. Serving home-cooked meals, and have over 1,000 sq. ft. of outdoor play space with a mini golf course, mini basketball court, and a covered kids' gym area. We're a small, close-knit setting where every child and family is known by name. About the role This is a permanent, ongoing full-time position.

Responsibilities:

comfortable running the full day — drop-off, meals and snacks, naptime, activities, and pickup — for a mixed-age group with minimal direction, and known and liked by the kids and their families. What you'll do Welcome children and families at drop-off and pickup, and keep the day running calmly Support daily routines for children ages 1-5 years, including home-cooked snacks and lunch, naptime, and diapering/toileting as needed Help plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities, indoors and in our outdoor play space, alongside the lead teacher Keep the space clean, organized, and safe, following Oregon DELC rules Build warm, trusted relationships with children, and communicate proactively with parents Required Available Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Comfortable and experienced caring for children ages 1-5 years. Clear Oregon criminal background check and enrolled in the Central Background Registry (CBR) Reliable and punctual — this program depends on consistent, dependable coverage Warm, patient, and attentive in a fast-moving small-group setting Preferred Prior experience in childcare, early education, or a related field Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification and Oregon Food Handler card (we can help you get these if you don't have them yet) New staff complete Oregon DELC-required orientation and trainings (Safe Sleep, RRCAN, ICCHS, and others) within their first 90 days — we'll walk you through it.
